The Maredsous Abbey, in the Molignée valley, is one of the most beautiful ones in Belgium. Make the most of your visit to admire the architecture of the monastery and taste the famous cheese and beer made on site.
Created in 1872 by Benedictine monks and built in a neogothic style, the Maredsous abbey offers pilgrims and visitors a stunning architectural setting.
Guided tours and tastings
Your guide will show you around the abbey, the cemetery, the monks' garden, the ceramics workshop.
The tasting tour (1h30) will lead you through the microbrewery and the hops farm. The state-of-the-art facilities allow specific beers to be brewed and available for tasting only on site. The visit continues with the Petit Musée de la Fromagerie where you will learn how the famous Maredsous cheese are refined The vist concludes at La Chapelle room for a tasting of beers (4 galopins or soft drinks) paired with some cheese.
Visits are available on weekends, public holidays and during school holidays.
