In La Gleize, you could really imagine yourself in mountain country. To the south and west, the Amblève river and its small confluences break the horizon into a multitude of valleys and blue hills. The hike takes you up and down steep hills for magnifient views.

Reserved for sporty walkers, this itinerary starts on the square of the church of La Gleize, by the German Tiger II tank and the December 1944 Museum, a site retracing the atrocious battles of the Ardennes offensive.  You then will pass through the plains and wooded hills of the hamlets of La Venne, Brume and Monceau. The stony paths and steep descents make it a difficult route but the effort is rewarded with splendid views: the lower Coo lake, the banks of the Amblève count among these.

Departure: rue de l’Eglise 17 at 4987 Stoumont
Distance: 16 km
Level: difficult
Marking: red rectangles (walk no. LG 3)
