The Wellington Museum, in Waterloo, immerses visitors in the heart of Napoleon's last battle thanks to a large collection of period objects and a modern and interactive scenography.
Come and meet the Duke of Wellington, commander of the British and allied forces This former inn converted into a cultural space was indeed headquarters to the man who led his troops to a historic victory on the nights of June 17 and 18, 1815.
It was within its walls that the Duke of Wellington wrote his report and thus made the city of Waterloo step into History.
A rich historical collection
Walking through the museum, you will see the rooms where Wellington and his aide-de-camp settled down to prepare for the last battle. Visitors can also admire an exceptional selection of weapons, a French cannon, the Duke's cape and authentic maps and letters from both French and British armies.
The integration of new technologies now offers an interactive journey, punctuated by visual shows. The modernity of the installations works in perfect harmony with the period elements and the authentic character of the old inn dating from 1705.
