- The most beautiful villages of Wallonia
Discover the village of Chardeneux, named one of the prettiest villages in Wallonia. Nestled in the Condroz region, its preserved countryside setting, stone buildings, gourmets stops and activities guarantee a memorable visit.
A rich cultural heritage
This charming village, built on South facing hillside, overlooks a superb countryside landscape, featuring meadows and fields. Visitors are sure to fall for its atypical architecture: a superb harmony of houses built of grey limestone and black slate in the 18th and 19th centuries.
A little stream goes along the village, crossed by a peculiar bridge, dating from the 19th century: it has its very own stairs leading to the water, designed for the washerwomen to do their job more easily.
Original pastoral activities
The village is also known for its blueberries, with over 5,000 plants growing there. Why not join the harvest, which takes place at Le Noyer estate between August 15 and October 15?
You could also try your hand at a fun sport, farm golf, just a few kilometres away: a little twist as you get to play in meadows, with cows around...
Foodie delights
Stop by the Li Berôdi counter or Bebette butcher shop in the village to stock on local delights... There are lovely restaurants in the region too. Try La Ferme des Oliviers in the village of Bende: everything is homemade from the bread to the dessert. La Ferme, a local chocolate shop, also is very much worth a detour.
