In Walloon Brabant, the Waterloo 1815 Battlefield will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of ABBA's Eurovision victory with a colorful retrospective exhibition: ABBA 1974-2024.
A retrospective at Waterloo
With its song Waterloo, Swedish group ABBA was able to promote the city throughout the world, as well as the last battle led by Emperor Napoleon.
The Waterloo Battlefield is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the song's Eurovision triumph (April 6, 1974) with a retrospective on these pop giants.
Thanks to its spectacular scenography, ABBA 1974-2024 retraces the major stages of the career of the 4 Swedes, from their solo debut in the 1960s to their historic return, in 2021, with the ABBA Voyage concept.
The group's extravagant and colorful costumes, as famous as their hits, are highlighted throughout the exhibition thanks to Swiss stylist Richard Gyver who made twenty of his creations (replicas of several of these fabulous outfits) available for the occasion.
Visitors will also discover a selection of unusual objects on loans from Belgian and foreign partners.
