This unique celebration dates back to 1937. It was thought of by artist Pierre Nothomb. The forest blessing takes place in Habay-La-Neuve every year, the last weekend of September.

Program

Poets, writers and other artistic minds gather every year for this event, which features woodlands and hunting themed exhibitions.

  • 10:30 a.m.: Forest Mass at the Notre-Dame de Grâces chapel
  • 1 p.m.: Autumn meal at the Château du Pont d’Oye (reservation required)
  • Hunting horns 
  • 3:30 p.m.: signing by Jean-Claude Servais, a comic book author
  • Visit to Pierre Nothomb’s literary studio 
  • Bars and restaurants

The hunters horn musicians skills has been listed as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.
