Follow the steps of your Neandertal ancestors in the Grotte de Spy, near Namur.
The Grotte de Spy overlooks the valley of the Orneau River, a tributary of the Sambre. It is in this stunning green setting that clues about the life of our ancestors were found.
The site is one of the most important Palaeolithic ones in Europe. In 1886, an exceptional amount of bones was discovered, leading to a major milestone in the history of science: a study led the international community to accept that humans different to modern man had once existed: the Neanderthal man had been uncovered.
