Tournai Historical Procession marks the end of Wallonia’s colourful festival season. The grandeur of event (not to mention the pomp of the costumes) gives it a fitting send-off...
Created in remembrance of the end of the Plague in 1092, the celebrations see the treasure and shrine of Tournai’s cathedral reverentially marched through the city, escorted by musicians and choristers.
A truly sumptuous show
- Friday: prayer vigil
- Saturday: pontifical office and key handing over ceremony at Notre-Dame Cathedral
- Sunday: pontifical service at the cathedral and exit from the Great Procession
