- Folklore and Tradition
Vaux-sous-Chèvremont celebrates every second Saturday of September a foodie fair dedicated to fricassées.
It all started with a miraculous Virgin statue, bringing crowds in. Guinguettes and restaurants started serving fricassée à la liégeoise (made with lard, sausage and eggs, served with bread) to the hungry pilgrims.
The dish remains on the menus but has its own special day each year with tastings and animations for children and adults.
Program
Every year, the Fricassee Festival gathers gourmands around many activities:
- Friday dinner and show
- Creators Market
- Gourmet walk and aperitif
- Games for children
- Street entertainment
- Musical entertainment under the marquee
