The Musée des Arts ContemporainS (MACS) welcomes the French artist Lionel Estève for an exhibition of sculptures inspired by seasons: an event to discover from autumn in a jewel of culture, nestled in the province of Hainaut.

Exhibition of sculptures near Mons

From the contrast between the 2 large rooms of the MACS which offers a specific architectural framework, Lionel Estève created a route articulated around several antagonisms: the arid and the humid, the hot and the cold, the light and the dark. The natural landscape is immediately evoked by the alternation of days, seasons or climates.

Gathered during bucolic escapes or urban strolls, these are stones, plants, plastics, tulles and a number of odds and ends that the artist deals with in the studio or on the very site of his exhibition.

At the sight of the thousands of thin, slightly iridescent cables, sealed in the shape of a drop or teardrop and arranged on the walls, visitors can experience an immersive installation, specially designed by Lionel Estève for the MACS and where emotion meets perception.
