- Exhibition
Mons Museum of Fine Arts (formerly known as BAM) is dedicating a new exhibition to the French sculptor Auguste Rodin: nearly 200 of the artist's most famous sculptures, some of which are monumental, will e on show in spring.
Auguste Rodin and the Renaissance
The exhibition offers a rereading of the artist's artistic journey, of which Belgium is the highlight.
Aside 200 of this artist's most famous sculptures, visitors will have the opportunity to see drawings, engravings and paintings from the Parisian Rodin Museum, various international institutions and private collections.
Thanks to the numerous discoveries and connections with Rodin's sources of inspiration (Michelangelo, Vesalius, Mabuse, Rubens), the exhibition reveals the sculptor's interest in artistic innovations of the Renaissance little taken into account until today.
From 13 April to 18 August 2024
