The Pavilion is an exhibition, experimentation and innovation center dedicated to digital cultures and located at the Esplanade de la Citadelle de Namur.
The project
A permanent exhibition venue opened in 2021, Le Pavillon mixes art, science and technology with the aim of helping as many people as possible to understand and take ownership of the impact of technological innovations on our society.
- Temporary exhibitions, conferences, workshops, courses and performances
- Programming that is both demanding and accessible.
- Fun and relaxed atmosphere
Since its creation, the space has been managed by the non-profit organization KIKK which attempts to create bridges between the arts, sciences, culture and technologies.
The place
The Pavilion comes from the imagination of Patrick Génard, an architect of Namur origin now based in Barcelona. It was built as part of the Universal Exhibition in Milan in 2015, and rebuilt at the beginning of 2019 in Namur.
The appearance of this eco-design building was designed to pay homage to the history of Belgium: its long corridor evokes the Ardennes farms while the dome is a nod to the royal greenhouses of Laeken.
