Located just 30 km south of Mons, the Parc Naturel des Hauts-Pays proves quite a stunning, preserved site. Birds singing, streams. waterfalls, forests, rich flora and faune, steep valleys: nature is queen here!

The Bois de Colfontaine : 750 ha of unspoilt (and protected) nature

Part of the Parc Naturel des Hauts-Pays, these woodlands are an important ornithological reserve. They also feature a wide range of tree species (hazelnut, ash, maple...).

Enjoy a stroll (or a bike ride)

  • 3 well indicated loops (10-13 km)
  • A walk for children (5 km)
  • Path for walks and bike rides

Look out for

  • Traces of coal mining activity that used to take place in the region
  • Hints of what happened durin WW2 such as shell holes, where dragonflies love to rest in summer
  •  La Tour du Lait Buré (20th century), which once served as a guinguette and cabaret...
