Jump on the aerial subway
Starting from the subway stations Sud or Beaux-Arts, the Charleroi-Marchienne line overlooks an industrial neighbourhood brought to life by street art creations.
These stunning murals, making a mosaic of contemporary designs, will remind you of Pierre Paulus' paintings (a Belgian expressionist painter).
Walk or cycle along the Sambre
Walk or cycle back via the tow path, part of the RAVel network, to find your way back to the Charleroi Sud Railway station.
Along the Sambre river, you will see the steaming Air Liquid plant, Industeel's impressive scrap-handling cranes, the explosion of colours of the many graffiti and murals, Carsid's enchanting rust-coloured installations and the fascinating Thy-Marcinelle site and finally, the Marcinelle lock and station.
A fantastic way to discover Charleroi off the beaten path.
