Located near Mons, the Maison du Marais is dedicated to Vincent Van Gogh, one of the greatest painters from the 19th century.

Cuesmes is an iconic stop for all Van Gogh fans and specialists. Located in this little commune in the Mons region, the Maison Van Gogh was home to one the most famous artists on the planet from August 1879 to October 1880. A scenographic journey recounts the life of this genius.

The visit starts from the entrance of the garden and continues through the cottage presenting the history of the site. The little house has been refurbished to showcase its simple atmosphere at the time Van Gogh lived there. An audio system concludes the tour by explaining the artist's work and his life in the Borinage.

It is them that the then preacher decided to become an artist. the rural and industrial surroundings would make a serious impression on him, showing in his paintings through his life.
