This amazing estate, created in 2015, was born from the friendship between a family of local farmers and a winegrower from the Champagne region. Located in Quévy-le-Grand, a charming village in the countryside of Mons, this is now the largest vineyard in Belgium.
The Vineyard
The Domaine du Chant d'Eole takes its name from its proximity to the Quévy wind turbines, which play a positive role in the quality of the grapes produced. Indeed, the movement of air helps to delay frost on the ground. It consists of 84,000 vines of traditional grape varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc).
The production
Different sparkling wines are produced according to a traditional method; Brut Blanc de Blancs and Brut Rosé. Elixir Saint-Georges is also produced in the production, resulting from the clever blend of grape juice and eau-de-vie made with the wine from the vineyard.
Visit the vineyards of Chant d'Eole
Le Domaine du Chant d’Éole organizes guided tours to immerse you through the history of the vineyard. The guides will preset the different stages in producing the vintages, from planting to bottling, the choice of grape varieties, maintenance of the vines and vinification.
The guided tour ends with a tasting.
Those preferring to discover the vineyard on their own can do so, thanks to 10 educational panels along a designed trail. This walk is accessible at any time and free of charge.
Gastronomy
The Brasserie d'Éole (in the vineyards) and the Imperatif d'Éole (above the cellar) both sublime local products and infuse them with creativity. These 2 restaurants, each with its own atmosphere, offer a unique experience and are managed by Michelin-starred Chef Benoit Neusy.
Events
Le Domaine du Chant d'Éole offers a range of enchanting experiences. These events are designed both for the general public (brunch, after work or tailor-made: weddings and other ceremonies) and for businesses (teambuildings, tailor-made company evenings).
