The Art of Engraving in the Renaissance
From February 14 to May 10, the Royal Estate & Museum of Mariemont and the University of Liège invite you to discover "Engraving & Interpreting in the High Renaissance." The exhibition showcases the work of the artist da Brescia, who produced numerous interpretive engravings, thus disseminating and promoting the work of great Renaissance masters.
Some forty original engravings, displayed alongside reproductions, sculptures, and engraving tools, evoke this vibrant 16th-century context. These works come from major Belgian and French collections such as the Louvre, the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF), the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR), and the Wittert Collection (University of Liège). The museum also presents a selection of sculptures from its collection of antiquities.
