The Terra Nova Visitor Centre

Based in former barracks of Terra Nova, the Visitor Centre retraces 2,000 years of European urban and military evolution through the history of Namur and its citadel. This brings interesting opportunities to reflect on our world and society - past, present and future. You are more than welcome to discover the museum on your own or join one of the guided tours.

The Cable Car

Since 2021, visitors can take the Namur cable car from the heart of the city or from the Esplanade de la Citadelle. The cable car spans the Sambre River and overlooks the ramparts of the Citadel, landing 650 meters further on, at a peak of 103 m. This journey of approximately 3-4 minutes gives you impression of being between heaven and earth.
