  • Demonstration

The Pardon sambrien is an annual gathering of boats in the Sambre region, born from a similar Breton sailors' tradition. Discover this folkloric event in Marchienne-au-Pont.

A fascinating autumnal event

If, originally, only working boats would have congregated in Marchienne-au-Pont, this maritime tradition has now stretched to leisure boats, bringing together all kind of vessels. The atmosphere is quite friendly with sailors of all social classes chatting happily. Quite a sight!

Program

The docks by the Sambre turn very festival that weekend, with many animations and a flea market taking place. The star of the day is the floating chapel, from which a chaplain will bless the many vessels.

Boat rides will of course be organised throughout the event.
