  • Exhibition

Villers-la-Ville Abbey presents the Yderst photo exhibition by Sébastien Van Malleghem and Kristen R. Johnsen. The exhibition focuses on the European coastline, currently threatened by the climate crisis.

Photojournalism: The European Coastline

From the Norwegian Arctic to Brittany, via Belgium... The Yderst exhibition immerses you in the daily lives of coastal communities, their living traditions, and their future challenges:

  • artisanal fishing in peril
  • Arctic minorities
  • regional languages
  • local industries and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

This international photojournalistic project examines our relationship with the sea. It offers concrete avenues for a Blue Green Deal.

Yderst (meaning "extreme" or "end" in a northern Norwegian dialect) advocates for the media's representation of coastal areas and Indigenous communities closely connected to nature.
