The International Carnival and Mask Museum is renewing its section dedicated to masks from around the world. It is scheduled to reopen on June 14, 2025, to mark the museum's 50th anniversary.

Masks from Around the World: A Modernized Immersive Experience

After 10 years in existence, the Masks from Around the World section of the International Carnival and Mask Museum is undergoing a facelift.

Over the course of eight months, major renovations transformed the space to make way for a brand-new, resolutely interactive scenography. Numerous masks, costumes, and accessories were brought out of storage to enhance the exhibition with a thematic (rather than geographical) approach.

A dozen immersive and educational installations will offer a unique perspective on masked traditions from around the world.

To mark the museum's 50th anniversary, this permanent section, newly titled Perspectives on the Collections, will reopen on June 14, 2025.
