- Trails, walks and visits
GAL Meuse@Campagnes will be partnering with the French event Le Printemps des cimetières to highlight the little-known funerary and memorial sites in Andenne, Fernelmont, Wasseiges and Hannut.
For three days, the riches of the Walloon cemeteries will be revealed. Take the opportunity to (re)discover memorial sites such as necropolises, churches, chapels and burial sites.
Visits, conference and show
This event comes with a series of rich, varied and free activities dedicated, this year, to fauna, flora and biodiversity in graveyards:
- Guided tours to understand the evolution of funeral styles, the history of a community, the revegetation of cemeteries...
- Storytelling walks about myths, legends, and tales of the afterlife
- In Hannut, a lecture on the history of cemeteries and funeral practices
- In Fernelmont, a workshop dedicated to eco-responsible grave cleaning
- In Hannut, a historical, humorous, and entertaining lecture on celebrity graves
- In Eghezée, "Six Feet Under the Grass" shows
