in 1954, nautical jousts were restored in La Plante. This folkloric tradition, which had started in the 16th century, see the Plantois challenge the Jambois: cheerful festivities now celebrated on the Meuse river every summer.

Each team is composed of 4 jousters, 10 paddlers, a drummer and a helmsman. The battles then take place in 3 steps: quarterfinals, semi-final, final. Whoever is the last one standing on the tillac or the last one to touch water wins the joust. The winner of the competitions is declared King of Jousters.
