A stone's throw from Rochefort, this museum covers the many facets of the Belgian railway network and limestone.
The Centre of Rail and Stone is located in the old town hall of Jemelle, a small village in the province of Namur.
Over 3 floors you will find a collection of tools, railway objects of yesteryear, photos and posters, uniforms and kepis as well as reconstructions retracing the railway story and the railwaymen's resistance during the Second World War. Visiting with children? Don't miss the miniature trains: the little ones can take the controls and make them go round the circuit.
The museum also dedicates 2 rooms to local geology and to its quarry, operated since 1924 by the company Lhoist. You will know everything about limestone extraction, lime making and the riches of Jemelle after your visit.

Opening hours
From April 1st to June 1st + September 1st to October 31st: Tuesdays-Sunday, 1 pm to 6 pm
From July 1st to August 31st: every day, 10 am to noon then 1 to 6 pm.
Last entries at 11 am and 5 pm.
Groups welcome all year, please book beforehand

Individuals: Adults € 4.5, children from 5 to 12 years 3 €, seniors 4 €.
Groups (10 persons min.): Adults 4 €, children from 5 to 12 years old 2.5 €, seniors 3.5 €
