Through the Enjeux Humains exhibition, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights celebrates its 75th anniversary at the Cité Miroir. 100 press cartoons that question our societies are to be discovered in an exceptional place in the Cité Ardente.

A humanist exhibition in Liège

With humor, impertinence, emotion and sometimes seriousness, well-known press cartoonists in Europe (Kroll, Cécile Bertrand, Vadot, Plantu, Chappatte...) and colleagues from the international scene depict their understanding of world news.

With more than a hundred drawings, these cartoonists sketch, question and celebrate the major themes of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which celebrates its 75th anniversary on December 10, 2023.

Democracy, gender equality, social rights, freedom of the press, peace, migration, education, health: the exhibition showcases the fundamental rights essential to our societies and yet still violated every day around the world.

In a playful, educational and committed way, the exhibition shows that this 1948 text remains an ideal to be achieved. It also invites us to move forward by questioning new rights that are essential today and tomorrow, such as those related to digital technology and the environment.
