By train

The train is by far the most practical way to travel around if you prefer not to hire a car.

SNCB, Belgian National Railway Company will help you plan your journey and check train schedules. You can also download the SNCB app.

If you are a traveller with specific needs and need a little help when going around on your own, you can ask the SNCB for personalised assistance on board. The company can also provide a guide to help you find your way through bigger stations and help get to you find the way to your train.

By bike

  • Blue-bike: rent a (city or e-) bike easily with this service, offered throughout Namur and rolled out through 44 train stations in Belgium.
  • Li Bia Velo: this simple rental bike scheme is perfect to discover the capital of Wallonia. You find docking stations throughout Wallonia. Even better: the first half-hour is free.
  • Pro Velo: to rent a bike (or get yours repaired) throughout Wallonia

By bus/subway

Visitors can rely on an excellent bus service in all towns throughout Wallonia. Charleroi is the only one with a subway network.
