Make our Walloon Christmas markets merry

At the end of November, Namur hosts its traditional Christmas market on the Place d'Armes. Overlooked by the magnificent La Bourse building, the wooden huts offer a varied selection of treasures.

Here, priority is given to local know-how and artisanal creations. There will be plenty of opportunities to find unique gifts to put under the tree... And if your search leaves you hungry, delicious scents will guide you to some of the chalets serving amazing food.

You will also find, should you still need convincing: an ice rink, street shows, musical entertainment, and even a light trail.

This cheerful Winter Wonderland in Malmedy is all about having fun. In addition to the must-see Christmas chalets, competitions are organized throughout December to give you the chance to win amazing prizes.

Those who prefer to stay active can slide and spin on the ice rink, while the more daring will take on the bullfight (despite the name, an 8 km race).

Don’t miss the Christmas parade with its illuminated floats and lively dancers, a perfect finish to the event.

For 10 days, Nivelles will wrap itself in Christmas colours. Outdoors on the Grand-Place, or indoors in the cloister of the magnificent Sainte-Gertrude Collegiate Church, the Christmas market offers a multitude of culinary and decorative temptations…

Nivelles choir will also hold a Christmas concert in the collegiate church, a lovely way to enjoy songs and music rising towards the vaults of this listed monument.

Artists at heart can take part in the nativity scene competition and see their creation rewarded.

Mons is pulling out all the stops for their new Cœur en Neige edition. The program is so rich time simply flies when you are visiting this fantastic market.

Between attractions like the pirate ship or the little train, circus shows, a candlelit walk, artisans' chalets, a Christmas bullfight, traveling light shows and the ice rink... you might want to allow the whole afternoon there.

You may even come across Father and Mother Christmas at the turn of an alley.: an opportunity for the little ones (and the not so little ones) to drop off their letter. But have you been good?
